A sales register no one rewrites.

Article 51 bis of the Algerian turnover tax code, in force from 1 January 2027, requires till software to number, secure, keep and archive every sale. Alcess has done it since the first sale, with no setup.

What happens to a sale once it is paid.

With every payment, without you doing anything.

  1. 01

    It gets a number

Assigned by the database at the moment of payment, in a continuous sequence. The number cannot be chosen or reused.

  2. 02

    It is signed

A SHA-256 fingerprint links it to the previous sale: changing or deleting a sale would break the chain, and it would show.

  3. 03

    It enters the Z report

Every night, at the end of your service day, a signed Z report totals sales, VAT by rate and refunds.

  4. 04

    It is kept

Nothing is erased: a refund produces a credit note numbered in the same sequence, and the original receipt keeps a note of what happened to it.

A complete receipt, on paper as on screen.

The receipt carries your legal details — NIF, NIS, trade register number, address —, the sale number, VAT broken down by rate, stamp duty on cash and the sale’s fingerprint. The same document comes out of the printer, shows on the guest’s phone and prints offline.

  • A duplicate says so, at the top and in bold
  • A receipt issued offline says it was
  • An invoice in a company’s name can be requested from the receipt

The receipt your till prints, with its mandatory details — example.

Z reports run by themselves, even on a day without sales.

The Z report is calculated at the end of the service day — 4 a.m. by default, in your time zone: at 1 a.m., a bar is still taking yesterday’s money. A day without sales gives a signed zero report, and a missed night is caught up the next, in order.

  • Period reports and perpetual totals
  • A closed period never reopens: reports can only be added
  • Gaps in numbering are detected and shown at the top of the Z reports page

Nothing disappears.

A refunded sale keeps its receipt, with a note of what happened; the credit note has its own number in the same sequence. An order never paid is cancelled with its reason, without using a number. A loss is classified as a loss, never disguised as a discount.

  • Justified discount, applied on the line so the VAT base stays correct
  • A sale taken offline and uploaded the next day enters the report of the day it arrives, linked to its original service
  • A log of every sensitive action, under the name of who did it and who allowed it

For your accountant.

Sales, VAT by rate, refunds and waste come out as ready-to-use exports: CSV, accounting entries under the SCF chart of accounts and a tax archive.

  • Stable figures: a sale refunded after its report does not change a day already closed
  • Staff meals and non-sale losses classified for the accounts
  • Tips appear in the total without entering the VAT base

Your data, and your guests’

Personal data

Processing follows law 25-11 on the protection of personal data: declared purposes, bounded retention periods.

Pseudonymisation

Contact details attached to orders are anonymised after two years; the audit log is purged after six years.

Erasure

A guest can ask for their loyalty account to be erased: the sale remains, without their identity.

Allergies

Health data, erased two days after the order.

Mandatory second factor

The owner’s account is protected by an authenticator app, or by Face ID or fingerprint. No SMS.

Protected merchant key

Your Chargily key is encrypted. Changing it requires the second factor, only takes effect 24 hours later, and you are warned with a link to object.

Frequently asked questions

All questions
Are my receipts compliant with Algerian law?

The register already is: every payment gets a sequential number and a chained, tamper-proof signature, kept and archived — the four conditions set by article 51 bis of the CTCA, in force from 1 January 2027. However, the publisher’s certificate the administration will require cannot be issued yet: its template depends on an order from the Minister of Finance that has not been published. We will issue it in the official format as soon as it is.

Can I edit or delete a sale?

No, by design: the database itself refuses it. A mistake is corrected by a refund, which produces a numbered credit note, or by the justified cancellation of an order never paid.

What if a Z report could not run one night?

The next report catches up the missed days, one by one and in order. No day is left without a report.

Is stamp duty calculated?

Yes, on cash payments, according to the current scale. It appears separately on the receipt and never enters the VAT base.

Your restaurant can run on Alcess tonight.

You pay, you set up your menu, you install the till and the kitchen screen: the first receipt comes out the same day.
