Start without buying anything.
Alcess works with the tablets, computers and screens you already have. A printer and a drawer can be added when you need them, without changing anything else.
Four ways to equip yourself
Indicative amounts, as seen at Algerian resellers: check with yours.
No hardware
0 DA
Fast food, tea room, neighbourhood restaurant
Guests order and pay from their phone, the till runs on a tablet or computer you already own, and the receipt is digital.
Paper receipts
15,000 to 25,000 DA
When your guests ask for a receipt
An 80 mm thermal printer. Prefer a model with Ethernet, and USB too if possible: on the network, it belongs to the restaurant rather than to one tablet.
Cash drawer
40,000 to 60,000 DA
As soon as you take cash in volume
The printer, plus a metal drawer with an RJ11 or RJ12 connector plugged into it. It opens on a cash sale, and outside a sale only with a reason.
Several stations
From 100,000 DA
Brasserie, venue with several rooms
A printer and a drawer per payment point, each with its own till session, and a screen per kitchen station.
The till tablet
We recommend a recent 10-inch Android tablet with the Alcess app: it drives the printer over USB, network or Bluetooth, and keeps sales offline. A computer with Chrome or Edge also works.
- Android 13 or 14 recommended; a USB-C port that acts as USB host (OTG) to plug in a USB printer
- Rough cost: 25,000 to 40,000 DA
- On iPad or in Safari, the till sells and takes payment but cannot drive any printer: the receipt remains available through its link
The thermal printer
An 80 mm ESC/POS printer, the standard for till receipts — Epson, Citizen, Star Micronics, Aures or Metapace, sold by Algerian resellers. The model name doesn’t tell you its interfaces: have “USB + Ethernet” confirmed on the spec sheet before paying.
- Network: recommended as soon as there is more than one station; give it a fixed address on your local network
- USB: the simplest for a single station, from the Android app
- Bluetooth as a fallback, and serial port from Chrome for older models

The cash drawer
The drawer plugs into the printer, never into the tablet: the printer sends the opening pulse. It is the industry standard, and it works across brands.
- 405 mm, 5 notes and 8 coins, RJ11 or RJ12 connector
- It opens on a cash sale, not on a card sale
- Opening it without a sale requires a permission and a reason, and leaves a named trace
Kitchen and call screens
Any screen with a browser: tablet, computer, TV. We recommend an Android tablet with the app in screen mode: it stays on, chimes without anyone touching it and restarts by itself after a power cut.
- One screen per preparation station
- A call screen in the room for ready orders
- Each screen links with a six-character code
The network
The till sells offline, but table ordering and the kitchen display need the internet. If your room depends on them, plan a backup connection: a phone’s 4G hotspot is enough.
- Printing does not go through the internet: a tablet cut off from the network still prints
- A banner announces the outage, rather than letting buttons fail silently
- 80 × 80 rolls: about 230 DA each
The Android app
The till and screen app downloads from our website, with its version and certificate fingerprint published.
Frequently asked questions
All questionsDo I need an “Alcess-compatible” printer?
Any 80 mm thermal printer that speaks ESC/POS works: it is the standard. What matters is its interfaces — Ethernet and USB ideally.
Can I use an iPad?
To sell and take payment, yes, in Safari. To print and open the drawer, no: Safari cannot reach any printer, whatever the model. If you want paper receipts, choose an Android tablet.
What if the tablet breaks down?
Take another, install the app and enrol it from your settings: the menu, tables and history are on the server. With a network printer, there is nothing to reconnect.
Your restaurant can run on Alcess tonight.
You pay, you set up your menu, you install the till and the kitchen screen: the first receipt comes out the same day.
